General information
The CSIF has available the Bioptechs DeltaTC3 heating system which can be used on the DeltaVision deconvolution microscope. The system is composed of 3 main components:
- A temperature controlled stage (optional cooling ring available)
- An objective heater
- DeltaTC3 dishes (available for sale in CSIF office)
Before using the system, please read ALL of the following material (including the PDF files, which you can print for your convenience). This is a delicate system and care must be taken with the components!!
Delta TC3 temperature controlled stage
There are two parts to the heated stage system - a stage insert into which the DeltaTC3 dishes fit and a controller box which regulates the temperature of the dish.
CSIF owns stage inserts for the Molecular Dynamics confocal (Nikon Diaphot 200 microscope) and for the Applied Precision DeltaVision (Olympus IX-70 microscope). The stages are designed to fit the DeltaTC3 dishes ONLY.
The dishes are 35 mm petri dishes with glass coverslip bottoms that are coated with a special coating to transfer the heat across the dish. The dishes can be ordered directly from Bioptechs or obtained from the CSIF office.

Objective heater
The objective heating system also has two components - an adustable heater loop which attaches to the objective and an electronic controller unit which regulated the temperature.
Please note that the objective loop has a maximum diameter which may require the removal of the outer sleeve of the objective. We will post a list of the objectives which require this to be done as soon as possible.

Cooling ring
There may be experiments in which you would like to study samples that are held below room temperature. To achieve that, we have a cooling ring available which inserts inside the DeltaTC3 dish and cool water from an ice bath is run through the system. At present, we only provide the ring - you will need to provide the cold water!
